THE SCHOOL · ACCREDITATIONS & RECOGNITION
Accreditations & recognition - the official side.
Italian law does not formally accredit stand-alone language schools, so honesty is the only good policy here: we are not "the only government-accredited Italian school", and you should be sceptical of any language school that claims to be. What gives us a different standing is the institutional context we operate within and the international approvals that have been issued to us specifically.

Part of Unicollege SSML - a MUR-accredited Italian Higher Institute. Accademia di Italiano operates as part of Unicollege SSML, an Istituto ad Ordinamento Universitario accredited by Italy's Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca (MUR) - the Ministry of Universities and Research. In practice this means our long-term language students sit alongside a fully-fledged university group recognised by the Italian state: they gain access to the academic infrastructure, quality framework and institutional standards of recognised Italian higher education, well beyond what a stand-alone language school can offer. Study-visa eligible long-term courses. Our long-term Italian courses meet the documentation and minimum-hours threshold (at least 80 lesson-hours per month, 16+ weeks minimum) required by Italian consulates for the National Study Visa (Visa D). We issue consulate-grade enrolment certificates and support the residence-permit process after arrival. CSN Sweden - approved school since 2007. Since 2007, Accademia di Italiano is approved by Centrala studiestödsnämnden (CSN), the Swedish national student loan agency - meaning Swedish students can use national student loans to fund a long-term Italian course with us. Documentation we issue. For every student we issue documentation in formats that consulates, prefectures, registrars and U.S. study-abroad offices have learned to accept: enrolment certificate, programme syllabus, weekly hours breakdown, attendance reports, end-of-course certificate with CEFR level achieved. We have done this for over twenty years.
Honest note: previous claims regarding "accreditation by Regione Lombardia" and "FSE - Fondo Sociale Europeo" channels are no longer current and have been removed from this page. We prefer to under-promise on titles and over-deliver on the documentation that actually works at the consulate and the prefecture.
Want to verify our institutional context?
We are happy to share the underlying MUR accreditation references and CSN approval documentation on request - useful for consulates, U.S. study-abroad offices, scholarship funders, and Swedish CSN reviewers.
